TSA is a Soaring club, maintained and operated by voluntary efforts of its members.
Soaring is fun, but entails the need for all members to accept the
responsibilities for a myriad of chores on and around the gliderport.
These tasks include accepting duties as tow pilot, sailplane instructor, and airplane
mechanic for those so qualified, and line chief, tractor driver
for those who are not quite so proficient. Other tasks that are required of members include mowing the grass, washing sailplanes and
tow planes, assisting in painting fences and cleaning the clubhouse.
Other, not quite so onerous tasks, include moving gliders on the flight line, assisting in the launch of gliders, and occasionally assisting a member
retrieve a glider, which has landed off-field.
This may entail driving a glider trailer to some remote farm field,
disassembling the glider and placing it in the trailer, returning to the gliderport and
then assisting in the re-assembly of the glider for the next lucky pilot on the flight list.
Many of the chores will interrupt the natural desires to spend all one's spare time gliding to the nearest cloud, but this is the price one must pay, for a
club atmosphere to operate efficiently.
TSA asks that members list their talents and what activities they are willing to assist in other than the duties as listed above. Members are also
required to become a member of the Soaring Society of America as TSA is a Chapter Club.
Members pay a non-refundable initiation fee and monthly dues together with any flying and tow fees incurred during that month.
Special memberships are available to members of soaring clubs and gliding organizations which offer reciprocal
memberships to TSA members.
TSA does not sell "rides" as such to the general public, but does have a 24 hour Temporary Membership that is available
to anyone who would like an introduction to the joys of soaring, including an orientation flight.

For visitors who are already glider pilots but who would like to fly with us for a short time, we have several options.
Vacation Memberships are available for short time visitors who do not live in the Dallas area. Additionally,
Reciprical Memberships are available to soaring pilots who have their own glider and who are members of another recognized soaring club that
has agreed to grant similar flying privileges to TSA members who may visit their club.
Membership applications and a schedule of charges can be found
on the "Application Information" page.
